Mechanical behaviors of extruded Mg alloys with high Gd and Nd content

The influence of alloying elements and heat treatment on the microstructure mechanical behaviors extruded Mg–Gd–Nd ternary alloys was investigated in this study. grain sizes dramatically decreased after extrusion, particles which distributed Mg matrix had great effect size. from 26 to 5 ​μm with content increasing. test results show that both Gd Nd positive hardness, yield strength Young's modulus. ultimate tensile (UTS) enhanced by content, content. elongation lower higher elements. Those were aged for 200 ​h ​°C. moduli ageing treatment. Combined study, part reinforcement identified as Mg5(Gd/Nd) dissolved matrix. element obviously has solubility alloys.
